The Shredders had an exciting 3rd year. They advanced to the sectional tournament for the first time! At the tournament they perfected their robot’s runs and tried to add a few more. The won a judges award for their work on the project. With 3 returning members and 2 new members they continued to learn and grow. Meeting only once a week they still had time to have fun together. This years theme of Hydrodynamics sent them to asking about the water at the Sherburne county fairgrounds. Through field trips and studying they found the lack of water and recycling was producing a lot of plastic water that ended up in the ocean. They started the conversations to push for potable water and the fairgrounds, and it IS going to Happen!! They are also working on improving the visibility of recycling containers at the fairgrounds. They will be working with 4H clubs in the county to create decorated lids on the recycle bins.
